Ag Theft Prevention Camera Program

Farm Security Cameras for Hawaiʻi County Farmers and Ranchers. This program is available to all farmers and ranchers in Hawaiʻi County.

The Pilot Ag Theft Prevention Camera Program which was implemented in Council District 1 has been completed successfully.

A huge thank you to Council District 6 and Michelle Galimba for their outstanding leadership and dedication to supporting our farmers and ranchers across Hawaiʻi County. Council member Galimba has not only secured vital funding for District 6's agricultural community but also extended her support to farmers and ranchers in other districts throughout the island.

Thanks to this collaboration, we have secured additional funding to support farmers and ranchers in other districts, helping them protect and sustain their hard work.

Mahalo, Council District 6 and Michelle Galimba! Your leadership makes a difference for all of Hawaiʻi County.

If you have encountered agricultural theft or are concerned about theft, please complete the form below. We will place you on a waitlist and contact you when cameras are available.

Agricultural Theft and Trespass Reporting Form

We encourage farmers and ranchers to complete a self-reporting form for any violations. Incidents of trespassing and theft are often under-reported. This gap in statistical data diminishes the legislative urgency for the financial support needed to enhance staffing and invest in anti-theft equipment that the police require to combat these hidden criminal activities.

The Department of Research and Development, in partnership with the Hawai‘i Police Department and the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, has created a fillable form for victims of agricultural theft or trespass. This form can be prepared and left for the responding officer.
